Aya & Yusuf

Children love animations and we tend to show them ones which hardly show anything productive. Well, it is never too late to change. Aya and Yusuf is yet another exciting show on Ali Huda meant for children around 6 years of age. This riveting animated series features Aya and Yusuf, two adorable and adventurous 6-year-old twins who have a deep rooted passion for exploring the world around them.

The series is rooted in modern Arabic heritage and chronicles and acquaints children with the rich heritage their religion is associated with. This, of course is through Aya and Yusuf as they spend their days discovering all that the lush countryside they live in has to offer, while learning valuable life lessons drawn from the Holy Qur’an.

What Aya and Yusuf teach your child?

The show is focused on imbibing moral values such as helpfulness, accountability and honesty in your child’s personality. Let’s take a quick look:

  1. Kind words
Words are powerful. Use them wisely and they bring good. Use them carelessly and they harm everyone. While Aya and Yusuf struggle with their homework, their father teaches them an important life lesson – that a kind word is like a wholesome tree with firm steady roots and branches that reach the sky.
  2. Say NO to wastage
Be it the last morsel of food or a dime in your pocket, wastage is not a great thing. Aya and Yusuf are lucky to get this lesson at an early age of life. Your kids can be the lucky ones too!
  3. Teamwork
As they say, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
Aya and Yusuf realize the importance of doing little things in life together. They are made to realize the importance of unity and being respectful to each other in a team.
  4. Strive to succeed
Success comes to those who strive to achieve it. This principle applies to this world and the next and it is important that our children understand that good things don’t come easy.
  5. Patience and perseverance
Life demands tons of patience from us. Those who lack it suffer in the long run. Those who develop it prosper. In fact, patience is such a beautiful characteristic that Allah tells us He is with those who have patience. In this show, Aya and Yusuf understand the value of patience and your kid can learn it too!
  6. Nature’s inventions
Nature is the best teacher and inventor. Think over it, how many life lessons has nature taught you. Yet, Gen Z is so engrossed in their gadgets that they miss out on important life lessons and wonders of nature.

Activity Time

Here are a few ideas for some fun activity time:

  • A crossword of kind words
Build a crossword puzzle of kind words for your kid. Give them hints for each word and get them guessing.
  • A visit to the poor
Visiting the poor and underprivileged helps your child understand that people have limited means to live and wastage is not a good habit.
  • Teamwork
Assign any household chore (one that child is enthusiastic about) to them alone. It could be gardening, cooking, baking or painting. Next, ask them to do it along with a friend/sibling. They will understand the concept and power of teamwork.
  • The gift they always wanted
Does your child want a fancy toy car or a beautiful doll house? Well, ask them to earn it. Get them to do household chores and pay them for it. Teach them the value of hardwork!

Let your kids have a ride with Aya & Yusuf, so they learn to embrace family values which have been emphasized over and over in the Quran and Sunnah such as helping those in need, accountability, honesty, gratitude, protecting the environment, and celebrating God’s creations.
