Azharis – Names of Allah

“Allah will punish you if you don’t listen to your parents.”

“Allah will get angry.”

Unfortunately, this is how most of us introduce Allah to our children. This approach leads to a fear based obedience, a sort of coercion that is not good for the long term relationship of the child with Allah. The child will ultimately grow up into an adult whose heart fears Allah but does not really love Him. So is this approach correct? NO.

So how does one introduce Allah to their child? And firstly, How does Allah introduce Himself in the Quran?

He describes Himself as Ar-Rahmaan and Ar-Raheem. Both of these names reflect Allah’s infinite mercy. There is wisdom in how Allah introduces Himself. He begins by telling you that all praise is due to Him and that He is going to be merciful towards you.

It is our responsibility as parents to instill Allah’s love in our children’s heart. The best way to do it is teach them the beautiful names of Allah and what each name signifies.

Once they understand who Allah is, it will be easier for them to establish a strong relationship with Him. This is what the show Azharis is all about.

The Azharis is quite a welcoming family show that has taken to exploring who Allah is and instilling His love into our children’s hearts as they go through the names of Allah.
